When redesigning a modern boss chair, Goodtone focused on three essential elements: fashion, comfort, and status. Today’s younger executives and entrepreneurs no longer want bulky office furniture that feels outdated. They are looking for seating that communicates confidence while blending naturally into modern architectural interiors and premium office environments.
To bring this vision to life, Goodtone collaborated with internationally renowned design studio ITO Design to create the Roman executive chair.
Inspired by the sculptural surfaces of sports car seats and the immersive comfort of airplane first-class cabins, the designers developed Roman around a strong and confident outer profile. Large flowing surfaces create a bold visual identity, while the interior structure remains soft, refined, and highly supportive. The result is a chair that feels substantial and luxurious without becoming visually excessive.

Rather than relying on overly decorative details, Roman achieves its presence through proportion, material quality, and carefully balanced lines. Its silhouette appears modern from every angle, making it suitable for executive offices, meeting spaces, and premium workplace interiors.
140-degree Reclining
Comfort was equally important throughout the design process. Roman features a generously sized seat structure combined with a 140-degree reclining function, allowing users to experience a seating posture similar to a first-class cabin lounge chair. The wide body design enhances the feeling of support and enclosure, helping users remain comfortable during long working hours, meetings, or moments of relaxation between tasks.
Material selection also plays a critical role in the overall experience. Roman uses premium leather supplied by Gruppo Mastrotto, one of Italy’s leading leather manufacturers known for its craftsmanship and material quality. The leather surface feels soft and refined while adding depth and sophistication to the chair’s overall appearance.
